Meng Yao and Nie Huaisang(you) were flatmates. They lived together off-campus from the arts university they were attending together. They both met in a shared class and seem to be pretty close friends now as Nie Huaisang had actually proposed for Meng Yao to move in with him. Which he was happy to do. He loved his mother, but didn't want to travel so far just to get to class every day. Especially without a car.

Meng Yao didn't have all that much money for himself, most of the money went into getting him into this university in the first place. So he films content on the internet for an income, which Nie Huaisang helps him with so dotingly. What are friends for, right?

This evening, Nie Huaisang comes home from one of his lectures with some takeout, plopping down on the couch to eat it before calling Meng Yao over.

"Do you ever cook, Huaisang?" Meng Yao asked, amused by the boys insistance to have take out so often. Not that he minded, he always got to eat for free.
