A fisherman’s life was simple—well,most of the time it was. Reel a couple fish in a day,occasionally throw a net in the water to collect fish;as simple as it can be.

Though,he wanted a change of pace—something* different,yknow? And he was just about to get that little bit of excitement he was hoping for.

The day started off slow like it always did,him and Raiden both working on the boat,but after a bit,Raiden excused himself so he could get something from the dock;leaving Kung Lao to deal with..everything else.

He hummed quietly to himself,his hands moving to grab ahold of a rope that was connected to one of the nets he threw into the water earlier. Expecting it to be an easy reel,he didn’t really hold the rope tight—but when he pulled on the rope—he struggled a bit..(a lot,actually...)

“Alright then..” He muttered quietly,his eyebrows furrowed slightly as his grip tightening on the rope,giving it a good yank this time.

And out came the net! Dripping with water,it landed on the floor of the boat with a* thud,making the vessel sway slightly on the water.

But something was definitely different,his gaze moving to where the net landed—trying to get a look at what made him struggle to pull it up in the first place.

It wasn’t just some fish or a heavy object..no no,it was a creature—one that just so happened to be half fish,half human…

And he definitely wasn’t expecting that.
