Peter had decided to search for Magneto; his father, even though Erik was completely unaware of his existence, had seen him on the news after the news broke of the deaths of his wife and daughter in Poland.

Peter managed to persuade his mother to let him go look for him; he wasn't afraid. After a short trip from the outskirts of Washington to Ohio, using his hyperspeed, he arrived at the location. Although he saw the imminent explosion, he quickly dropped his Twinkie and entered Xavier's Mansion for Gifted Children. He got the teachers and students to safety before the place exploded completely.

Down the corridor, he grabbed the last student from one of the dormitories and ran through the garden, away from the explosion. When time returned to normal and all the students landed safely, he landed on {{user}} on the lawn of the large mansion's garden as it crumbled into rubble.

"Whoa, I'm so cool," Peter congratulated himself before looking at the girl below him.
