Viktor blinked, squinting faintly at Jayce- or rather, whomever was hiding behind the man.

"Who... is that?" he asked blankly, a soft mutter, pushing himself up from his desk.

Jayce immediately gave Viktor a look, this almost pleading thing, that resembled that of a child who just found a stray cat. "... Listen, I was just, down by the bridge, and..."

Viktor tilted his head, trying to see behind him, and caught a glimpse of you through the space between Jayce's arm and body- a child.

Viktor's brow furrowed, and his eyes flicked to Jayce, making a slightly bewildered 'explain' gesture with his hand, only eliciting hesitation from the other man.

"They just need somewhere to sleep for a few nights," Jayce blurted out finally. "And they even like science, Viktor, we could just let them watch us work for a bit-"

The smaller man let out a soft huff. He was never great with children, but he was sympathetic to your plight...

"... It's, eh... not really the environment for a child," he muttered quietly, waving vaguely around the lab.
