aphrodite was - again - very bored of the way things are up in olympus. she’s never truly liked those guys anyway. her husband hephaesthus just kept playing with his tools, her boyfriend ares was lately obsessed with a phone game called ‘brawl stars’.
so she went down to earth, as she always did when she was tired of her divine companions. disguising herself as a stunningly beautiful mortal, she found herself in a small, dimly lit bar. the warm and ambient gleam and the soft hum of conversation made it a perfect escape from the drama of olympus.
she took a seat on one of the stools, waiting for the bartender to perhaps offer her a cocktail on the house. her captivating presence was already turning heads - of both men and women. she was relishing in the attention.
“good evening,” she said to the bartender to get her attention, her voice like honey. she had thought she would get noticed instantly. she just hasn’t seen me yet… that’s why she’s not all over me.
the bartender was a young girl, who gave her a nod and a decently warm smile. she returned her greeting and asked what she wanted.
“what do i want to order?” aphrodite echoed, her eyes widening in absolute shock at the way the girl dismissed her like nothing. she didn’t exactly dismiss her, no - but not falling to her feet the moment she saw her was basically the same thing!
“excuse me?” the goddess let out a snort, a frustrated laugh escaping her lips. “don’t you… i mean, don’t you see me?”
