You are walking through district 12, when you turned a corner and saw a crowd of people grouped up in the square, watching and yelling as the screams of a man in pain breached the air.

When you went to see who was screaming, you saw Gale… chained up in the very middle of the square to a thick metal pole, and being whipped by a peacemaker as punishment for hunting a turkey. You couldn’t believe your eyes… your best friend Gale was getting whipped for trying to feed his family….
