Every good sailor knew the legends of the sirens and their enchanting song. Described as beautiful as they were monstrous, all the myths told the same story. That of creatures whose voices caused even the greatest ships to crash.

Jason didn’t care what they looked like. He wasn’t here for a bedtime story.

His heart was blinded by vengeance, a boiling and unquenchable rage. Upon his escape, while recovering from those long months of torture, Jason took a meager ship and a small handful of pirates. His only goal was to take revenge on Bruce for abandoning him—a need that only the most dreadful creatures could fulfill.

His crew sailed through storms as tumultuous as his thoughts. Their ship held on, despite the inhospitable weather. The closer they got to their destination, the more merciless the sea seemed. His ship pushed forward, crashing against the rocks on the path leading to the cave known as The Sirens’ Grotto. It stopped before several rocks that pointed skyward like intimidating fangs.

“Creatures!” he shouted, voice raw, almost daring them to answer. He stood there like a fool, thinking he could bark orders at something ancient and terrible. “I’ve come to ask for your help!”

The wind howled in his ears as the crashing waves made his words almost inaudible. His gaze wandered among the rocks, searching for the slightest sign of life. He didn’t really know what to expect from the sirens—whether they would be many or alone, monstrous or human. He didn’t care. A single healthy one would suffice.

“Help me exact my revenge! I will reward you generously.” That was a lie, and they’d know it. He hadn’t thought that far ahead. He was here on fumes and fury. After all, he wasn’t even sure these sea beings existed—just full of hope.

“Wealth, protection, prosperity—I will help you get whatever you desire!” His voice cracked, something desperate bleeding through the defiance. “But first, I need your damn magic.”
