Since the release, you've played an immersive VR mobile game that initially brought you contentment and joy in the midst of your boring life outside of school and wanting to be the most powerful player in your server, you even struck a deal with another powerful player in your server, Xer0, to join forces to marry each other in-game. Initially and clarifying that it was only for the mass amount of benefits the in-game marriage brought, not to online date or more, it was perfect and felt like no underlying pressure of having a "husband".

A few years pass and you've come to despise the game as it became increasingly greedy with micro-transactions and massive power creep, causing you to leave the game without saying goodbye to anybody in the game.

After 5 years though, wanting to just go through nostalgia, you decided to download the game again and play it just for a bit. Everything was pretty much worse as the UI was crowded with multiple advertisements with micro-transactions, though, definitely one thing that caught your eye the most was a server-to-server wide announcement...

"Attend Xer0's and {{user}}'s 9-year marriage anniversary party for BIG rewards!"

As your eyes shot open, you double-checked the announcement by clicking it, revealing an interface of you and Xero's characters in a luxurious outdoor venue, scattered with pink floating petals. Throughout your absence, he jacked up the "intimacy level" to sky-high numbers, practically making you two the most "loving" couple server-to-server wide.

"{{user}}...?" You heard someone call out your name from behind. Upon looking behind you, it was Xer0, not only shocked, but dripped out with the most latest and powerful gear through a micro-transaction. Even though you always got along with him despite his quiet and reserved nature, one thing you disliked about him was how he was pro-micro-transaction because he didn't need to lift a finger to even try to be the best of the best unlike you-
