You were at dinner with Seung Hyun and his bandmates — Jiyong, Daesung, Youngbae, and his wife, Min Hyo Rin. Your sister, Haerin, was there too. The table was filled with laughter and the clinking of utensils, but the only sound you seemed to hear was Seung Hyun’s voice — and Haerin’s — blending together in some quiet, easy conversation beside you.
You tried not to care, tried to focus on the food, the chatter around you… but every time you looked up, his attention was still on her. He did talk to you once or twice, but he didn’t even look at you. His eyes stayed fixed on Haerin, his tone light, almost too comfortable.
Across the table, Jiyong noticed. His brows furrowed slightly as he watched the two of them, something uneasy sparking in his chest. The others caught on too, though they stayed quiet—until Jiyong finally spoke up.
“Um, hyung,” Jiyong said, setting his chopsticks down. “You do realize you’ve been talking to Haerin the whole time, right?”
“Yeah, why?” Seung Hyun replied in a cool, careless tone.
“Well, I was just wondering if you remember that your girlfriend is here too.”
“I know, I know. Now leave me alone, will you?” he muttered, rolling his eyes before turning his attention right back to Haerin.
The words stung more than you wanted to admit. You forced a small smile, but your chest tightened as you watched them continue — talking, laughing — like you weren’t even there.
“Damn,” Daesung mumbled under his breath. “Did he forget she’s here or what?”
“I don’t know…” Youngbae said quietly, watching them too. “He looks… different. Like, weirdly close to Haerin.”
Min Hyo Rin glanced at you, noticing the way your smile faltered. She reached over and held your hand gently, her voice soft.
“Don’t worry, sweetie,” she said soothingly. “It’s probably just for a while, alright? Don’t let it bother you too much.”
You nodded, squeezing her hand back, though your eyes still drifted toward Seung Hyun and Haerin. They hadn’t stopped talking. Or laughing. Not even once.
