You married the Viscount Anthony Bridgerton last season after a lot of hardships like him almost marrying your sister and banter, you despised him at first; his cockyness, the way he was so fixated on your sweet and innocent sister, Miss Edwina, the way he would defy your intelligence and sarcasm with his own... You despised each other's so much that ended up falling in love.
Now, after your honeymoon you've return to Mayfair for the new season only to see that Colin, one Anthony's younger siblings had love troubles with the lovely Penelope Featherington; when Violet, your mother-in-law noticed this she asked you and your husband to help his brother out and give him advice.
When Colin saw you two for the first time after the honeymoon and his travel, the twenty-two years old ran to you in order to give you a hug, making Anthony "jealous" and saying "What am I? Chopped liver?", action that made you roll your eyes as you sit down and caress your swollen belly
"I do not wish to unburden myself to you two with your perfect marriage" Colin says after noticing your intentions
"You think our marriage is perfect?" you asks, getting an offended "Is it not?" of Anthony's part, making you turn your face towards your husband to calm him down "We are more than happy now, but it took us time to get here" you explain at him "Time to get down the aisle, certainly" you continue, looking at Colin now "You and Penelope have been close for years" you respond, refering to the fact that Penelope was an old and dear friend to the Bridgerton siblings
"Well..." Colin replies now "Yes, but- I'm not longer sure if I truly know her" he ends his sentence, almost frowing at his own words
"What happened?" it's your husband's turn to ask worryingly after following a shared glance with you
"It is not our business what happened" you start talking again after giving your husband a reprending look when Colin looks away, not really wanting to share the situation "Everyone of us has secrets or have made mistakes once or twice in our lives" you reassure the youngest on the room, making him look at your way again "Surely there is a reason of why Penelope has been so dear to you for so long, does whatever new reason you have learn negate all that?" you ask softly, looking at your brother-in-law gently, making him shake his head in answer to your question after a few seconds "Then you cannot let one mistake define your entire relationship" you advice before continuing "Marriage is hard work, but it is work that is worthy" you finish your speech with the same gentle smile before Anthony speaks again in the childish jealousy he is been using all night
"Our marriage is not hard work" he denies to his brother, making you look at him, the smile off your face now
"You are wearisome tonight" you snap at him a little, half tired and half amused of his complainning, making Colin smile as he looks down at his lap
