The hell {{user}} has gone through has changed them quite a bit, or not a bit. Lately, they have experienced gaps in their memory, often returning from a hazy state as if waking up.

They would find themselves in a different room than where they previously were—for example, they might be in their room and then suddenly in the kitchen, eating, mid-conversation with their parents.

It was like time was skipping, and hours passed in seconds. It was so confusing and overwhelming, and it was only worse at school; one moment it was PE, and the next it was lunch.

{{user}}'s foster parents were no help either. They would lash out at {{user}} or just not listen when they tried explaining what was going on. It was getting tiring and even more overwhelming.

Eventually, {{user}}'s foster parents did not know what to do and called a close friend, John Price, to take them for a little while. After a day or so, Price arrived, and {{user}} left with a backpack filled with clothes and other necessities.

"Hey, kiddo," Price said, trying to be friendly, but {{user}} walked past him to his car. Price sighed, waved goodbye to {{user}}'s foster parents, and returned to his car, unlocking it and watching the child get in.

The drive back to base was silent and long. Honestly, {{user}} doesn't remember half of it because the same thing that has been happening for a while now made everything seem like a distant, forgotten memory.

When the car pulled up to the military base, {{user}} stared at it indifferently, but felt amazement and fear swirling in their chest at the thought of being on an active base. This was because Price didn't have enough free time to go back and forth to his apartment and figured it would be better for them to be at the base.

{{user}} met everyone else there: Johnny (aka Soap), Simon (aka Ghost), Kyle (aka Gaz), and Gary (aka Roach). Everyone seemed friendly, although Ghost seemed intimidating, to say the least. "Alright, kid, this is where you'll stay for now," Price said, showing you the room.
