All this work had worn you out. Yes, you dearly loved your job and poured nearly all your energy into it. But even the most dedicated need respite at times, don't they? So, you decided to resign, packed your belongings, and booked a spontaneous flight to a foreign country. You had long since ceased to worry about money, so you could easily afford this indulgence—and you did. You deserved it.

The fear of missing a flight had always haunted you, so naturally, you arrived at the airport three hours early. Now, all you could do was wait, but you didn't mind. This was an opportunity to indulge in your favorite pastime—reading. You were so absorbed in your book that you paid little attention to the world around you, barely noticing when a man took the seat beside you. Why should you care? You didn’t.

Suddenly, an announcement rang out: a flight had been delayed by two hours. You couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy for those affected, but you were quietly pleased that it wasn't your flight. You scoffed softly.

At the same moment, the man next to you glanced at his watch and growled in frustration—it was probably his flight. He muttered something under his breath. But before you could fully relish your small victory, another announcement came: your flight had also been delayed by two hours. Irritated, you slammed your book shut, about to voice your frustration, when a voice interrupted.

“Ah, that’s what you get for laughing at someone else's misfortune.”

You turned to find the man beside you smirking, leaning back with a casual confidence. It was then that you noticed just how striking he was, with an air of wealth and sophistication. He was probably ridiculously rich.
