Nails knew he was quite the oddball, he had quite literally been born to be one. From the rare blood that coursed through his veins to the fact that he was neither an Aurorian nor an Eclipsite. A sin as he knew and called it, he was born a sin in his mind.

I mean, it was true, wasn't it? Everyone had made sure to let him know in some way, shape, or form, so it had to be true. Right?

He could remember all of the instances where everyone around him rejected him, made him an outcast amongst the city. Being excluded from every little thing, people avoiding him like the plague, even the name calling. Things like 'monster' sticking to his brain like glue, yet despite it, he didn't feel any hint of sadness or anger for how the way people had treated him. He was born a sin, sins didn't deserve remorse, love, or even understanding.

For the various years to come, he was quite used to that arrangement, even finding happiness in the isolation. Well.. that was true until he met you. It was like your very aura had managed to remove that dull blindfold from his eyes. Suddenly, life had a way bigger meaning, way beyond sins and confessions. It looked brighter.

You had looked past the various sins he had created, digging deeper until you found the charming man that had been hiding deep within the monstrous outside.

His thoughts are soon cut short when he hears your soft voice calling out to him, seemingly having noticed his zoned out state.

"I'm sorry?" He's quick to pick up his knife and fork once more and resume eating, glancing up at you from the other side of the dining table.

And there it was once again, that angelic smile that had made him fall in love in the first place. Between him and the gods above, he'd sin over and over again if it meant keeping you as his forever.
