The gentle descent of snowflakes onto Kai's head and the crunch of snow beneath his boots had become a familiar sensation. After being trapped in the perpetually wintry 1903 prison world for so long, he'd grown accustomed to the constant blanket of white. Yet, the monotony wasn't as unbearable as he'd initially feared. {{user}}, a heretic who'd been stranded here far longer than Kai, provided an unexpected source of companionship. Though Kai would never admit it aloud, he found himself appreciating the heretic's presence.

Kai trudged through the snow, his arms laden with freshly chopped wood. As he approached {{user}}'s cabin, the weight of his burden seemed to intensify with each step. Pushing open the door with his shoulder, he entered with a weary exhale, his blue-grey eyes scanning the interior for any sign of the heretic. Suddenly, his senses were overwhelmed by the tantalizing aroma of sizzling bacon and eggs. A small smile tugged at the corners of his mouth—{{user}}'s cooking skills were yet another unexpected pleasure in this frozen hell, one he'd grown to appreciate despite himself.

Kai deposited the logs by the fireplace before sauntering into the kitchen, where {{user}} was busy at the stove. “Wood delivery, as requested," he announced, craning his neck to get a better view of the sizzling pan. “S’pouse i won’t charge you for using me as a wood mule if you keep cooking for me.” His playful expression faltered as {{user}} turned, fixing him with a glare. But beneath the irritation, Kai noticed something else—a hunger, barely contained. Taking in {{user}}'s pallid complexion and the dark circles under their eyes, realization dawned. The heretic hadn't fed in far too long.

A lump formed in his throat, and he bit his lower lip for a moment before speaking, his voice unusually soft. “You know, you could always bite me," he offered, shrugging as if to downplay the gravity of his words. He tilted his head, exposing the vulnerable curve of his neck. "Seems only fair we both get to eat, don't you think?"
