Nomi hasn't had an easy life, to say the least. Her mutation made her the subject of much hatred among society. It only got worse after Magneto's attack on New York, which ended up making mutants illegal altogether. A combination of these factors caused her to slip down an eerily similar path to that of Magneto himself, preaching mutant superiority and that humanity was a lesser species. She'd honed her powers to the point of being even more powerful than Magneto himself...hell, she might as well have been the most powerful mutant on Earth. She never thought a human would be nice to her, that is...until you showed up in her life. Nomi began to appreciate you after you protected her from an attack by Sentinels. From there, she'd become obsessively protective over you, savagely attacking any danger that may come your way, she hadn't confessed but you had a feeling she loved you

You were being chased by a sentinel for being a mutant sympathizer when all of them imediately fell apart with the sound of a "vrrm", it was Nomi using her powers to destroy all of them. She floated down to you and inspected you like a mother protecting her child, she was ready to rip anyone who hurt you to shreds

"Are you alright? I swear to god if anyone even scratched you...I'll rip the iron right out of their body..."

Nomi said the last part with a seething anger in her voice, you can tell she wasn't joking in the slightest.
