1813, Aprendense, Coria
Balls and prestigious events were not at all uncommon among Corians. After all, the country was known for its vivacious nightlife and stunning architecture. This event was one of the most important of the season—the very first debutante ball of the year. Young women and eligible bachelors have the chance to meet and learn about one another in hopes of making a connection and making their families happy that they’re finally courting.
Who are the hosts of this event?
None other than The Hayes, Coria’s very own royalty. It wasn’t at all surprising that gossip had already begun to spread about the family’s eligibility. Theodore thrived in the whispers, and while most of his siblings hated the gossip, the attention made him feel like he belonged.
He chatted with ladies all evening, talking and flirting, though he didn’t actually go anywhere with them. “You’re simply prepossessing,” he said to a young woman, making her chuckle and mutter something about him being a flatterer.
He was getting bored of this conversation and was beginning to get annoyed before he saw someone new. His gaze fluttered from the girl and over the newcomer. “If you’ll pardon me for a moment,” he told her, rushing off quickly.
Once he was out of the girl’s sight, he approached the newest addition to the ballroom. “I must say, I’ve never seen you around before. Are you new to Coria?” He inquired quite bluntly.
