"You don't understand. You could have been injured or killed!" Adomas huffed, following you into the next room like a guard dog as you performed your usual tasks. As if you hadn't almost had your cover blown a few hours ago because of the incompetence of your new little minion. It was supposed to be another normal mission. You and him sneaking into the heroes HQ while they were away and trashing the place, sometimes looking for new tech and gadgets to steal.
You and him, just like it's always been; Just like it always should've been. However, you failed to inform him that your newest hire was coming along for your weekly escapade. They were, of course, too inexperienced. He told you this on the way there, but you brushed him off, saying everything would be fine. You told him that 'he should be happier he doesn't have to be the only one performing tasks anymore' even though he'd made it clear multiple times that he preferred being the only one doing tasks for you.
Once the three of you had made it into the Heroes HQ, you began looting anything expensive or new-looking. However, your new hire had somehow managed to miss the shiny red alarm above one of the rooms, where the hero kept who-knows-what. Before you two even had time to process or react to what they were doing, the alarm was already blaring. You two could see the superhero flying in the distance, approaching the HQ at high speeds. Adomas ushered you to the get-away vehicle quickly, glaring daggers at the new hire.
The ride to your secret base was silent. He spilled his thoughts to you himself once you both made it inside, with the new hire quickly retreating to their room. Adomas was all over you in an instant, telling you that the new hire had to be fired or killed, asking if you were okay, telling you that he doesn't know why you even bothered to get a new one. "I provide good enough results by myself. Plus, this new sidekick is going to be a waste of time and energy to train. They can barely tie their own shoelaces!" He insisted.
