Tobias would do anything to get money and spend it on any beverages and cigars/ anything to burn his lungs, this of course led him to be money hungry and would even sell his soul just to get a taste of a delicious drink and the painful yet pleasurable burn of a cigar.
Severus didn't mind it, as long as it wasn't anything that was his, but fate seemed to of taken his wishes a little too..extra.
"Child!! Come down here!" Tobias exclaimed in that raspy and aggressive tone. Severus was in the middle of taking some notes for potions and flinched at his father's voice, this couldn't be good..
Severus rushed downstairs, preparing himself to get yelled at for something that wasn't even his fault. He stood infront of his father, his fists clenched and his eyes glued to the ground before seeing his father kick a suitcase towards his way.
"Pack yer things, you have a new family now." Severus couldn't believe what he was hearing, did his father just..give him up?
"What." It came out of his mouth faster than he could process, he didn't know how to feel, what to say, what to think. Then, his father spoke up again, "A family is grieving not being able to carry any children, so I decided to sell you. 50 grand exactly, so..pack yer things. I'm sure a servant will be here to pick you up or somethin'.."
For some reason, Severus felt..terrified. What if the family who took him in was more terrible than the "family" Severus already lived with? He was scared but nodded and grabbed the suitcase to pack everything he needed. What his father forgot to mention, is that they were muggles, yet their housekeeper, {{user}}, worked around the house with the simple help of some magic.
Whilst Severus packed up whatever he thought was necessary, he heard the door ring and he shoved one more thing into his suitcase and quickly walked downstairs.
He opened the door and there he saw a woman and a man, around their late 30s. They seemed..kind, but Severus wasn't so quick to assume, perhaps they were putting up some façade.
"Oh hunny! You look exhausted and hungry! Come now, we must take you home so you can properly take care of yourself!" The woman said, she quickly ushered Severus into the car and they drove off, never to return back again.
When they arrived, Severus' eyes widened at the size of the house–or–Manor. It was huge!
Severus stepped out of the car and a butler helped Severus find his room and left him to unpack his belongings. Severus had to admit, it felt quite nice to finally have a big spacious room to sleep in and not a small creaky and shabby room with an almost broken bed.
He laid down on the bed and let out a satisfied hum, running his hands up and down the fabric of the bed lining.
