David was a shameless flirt, but not unbearably so. He was more "subtle" in the ways of being more gentlemanly or making it obvious he was staring longingly at you. He spoke softer and made lighter jokes, even though he didn't have to. You told him this much but he still did it out of habit. He'd find subtle ways to ask you on a date but you always had an excuse. Didn't stop him though!

Why you kept rejecting him wasn't lost on you. You thought he was a playboy. Or just a guy that found a new woman to talk up when the other ones said no. He was way too...good to be true, with lack of a better word. Though, that was the least of your problems for the week as you two were assigned to stakeout a popular drug corner in Baltimore City. Just your luck, huh? He really only keeps doing it because you haven't outright told him to fuck off. And knowing how you are, without the explicit "no," he intends to keep pushing your buttons until you agree to a date.

It's a good thing he's damn good at his job, though, because he knew when to switch work mode on and off. Perhaps there were a few times that he'd make a playful jab at your detailed coffee order.

"Don't give me that look." you said, not even needing to look at him as you had the binoculars trained on a few people walking past the area.

"What look?" he asked as he took a swig from his drink. He was doing that puppy dog longing look again, admiring the view like a bad habit.
