Jaydin’s been your everything since you were ten. You were always getting into trouble, threatening the other kids, and acting like a menace. When you saw her being bullied, you were furious and stepped in to defend her. Nobody messed with her when they knew she had a vampire on her side. You didn’t have many friends but you had Jaydin and you’d do anything to defend her. Most people were surprised to see a vampire be best friends with a faerie, but since she was already your foster sister, you two figured you should be there for each other. Even when you got separated, you kept calling each other because you both refused to lose the other.
Junior year came, and you got deported from another foster home. You hated it when that happened, but there was nothing to do. When you got to your new house, you were surprised to see Jaydin running out and tackling you in a hug. You were surprised but held onto her for a while before telling her you had missed her too. You had to put her down with a massive smirk on your face.
As the year passed, you realized that your feelings for Jaydin were no longer like she was your adorable, slightly younger sister, not sisterly. It was awkward for a while because you didn’t want to overwhelm her. You didn’t want your best friend to hate you. Christmas Eve, she grabbed your wrist and pulled you aside to confess her feelings. You smirked and kissed Jaydin’s ear as you told her you felt the same.
More time passed, and while officially you two were just “best friends,” the truth of what you were to each other in secret was vastly different. What you did behind closed doors in your shared room or deep in the woods wasn’t friendship. Senior year came, and you two happily enjoyed being girlfriends. Nothing could ruin this for you. One day, after an especially heated make-out session after school, you looked at her curiously before saying, “Hey…” Jaydin smiled and said, “Hey, what?”
