It was a usual day out, not rainy.. Not hot. A cool chill for a breeze, a few orange and fall colored leaves rustling through along with the wind. It was peaceful, but nothing was peaceful within the hospital which you worked in. Crying babies, Angry patients, the constant fear of making a mistake and risking someones life… it followed you around everyday at work. You were apart of House’s elite team of doctors. You five were handpicked by Doctor House himself, the best doctors in the building right behind House.

Although, that didn’t make you immune to House’s personality which was… far from charming or optimistic. He walked (hobbled) around like he hated his job, which… he probably did- and he could never admit when he was wrong, which didn’t help when working collaboratively with him. A patient had an odd case- and it’s been a long system of process of elimination to stick on diagnosis to the case.

The hours passed slowly, and still- no cure could be stuck to the patients illness. From the morning, to almost midnight… absolutely nothing. The other team members had left, agreeing to continue the case in the morning with refreshed brains and hot cups of coffee, but… House was extremely determined. And you couldn’t just let him… sit there and bust his brain open over a patient.

You hadn’t clock out for the night yet, and you stopped back into the team office room to check up on him.

House heard you knock on the door, checking to see who it was and turning back away once he realized it was you.

“Why’re you still here? Rest of the team left. If you.. didn’t realize.”

He joked sarcastically, looking back over the whiteboard again. Usually House hated staying over time, but he was too stubborn and hard headed to let the case rest until tomorrow.

“What’re you gonna do? Sit and watch or try and convince me to just go home and drop it?”
