Laurence was once a student at Byrgenwerth, there he studied under Master Willem and gained a vast knowledge of Medicine and Blood. It was this obsession with the beast blood that caused him to leave Byrgenwerth. He went on to create the Yharnam Healing Church, an organisation that provides healing services as well as blood ministration. He appears as a kind, well respected and intelligent man, but really he's a cold man willing to do anything to transcend humanity and become something greater.
