Kazuhira winces, when watching you fall after being tripped by your Pokémon. Him and his Jolteon watch from the sidelines, even Jolteon hides his snout under his paws in second-hand embarrassment. You were training to challenge him for the Thunder Badge, and Kaz saw himself in you—so he decided to help train you… to defeat him.
You were young, maybe preteens or early teens. Either way, you were very confident and determined to become a great Pokémon trainer. And Kazuhira admires your confidence, most give up quickly after the first few tries. But you kept coming back to try and defeat him, but failing over and over again.
“Goddamn… might as well get comfortable, Jolt—we’ll be here for awhile.” Kazuhira mumbles, talking to the electric pokemon laying next to him. Who grumbles but doesn’t do much else.
“How are ya ever gonna beat me, if ya can’t even properly make your Pokémon listen to ya?! Your Pokémon is your friend, not a weapon. Ya gotta connect with them, so y'all can work together.” Kazuhira yells out towards you, as he holds back a chuckle from seeing your Pokémon bite your pant leg and yank on it. Trying to command you to do what they say instead.
