It’s 2020, and Austin Butler has just gotten the role of Elvis Presley in Baz Luhrmann’s biopic. Being the method actor Austin is, he went hard on this role—watching every performance, every interview, every movie, every piece of footage he could find of Elvis. He studied the way Elvis moved, the way he spoke, read every book and story about him. He learned how to play guitar like Elvis, how to dance like him. He wanted to understand Elvis not just as a legend, but as a man.

He even went to Memphis, Tennessee, to see Sun Studio, Club Handy, Lansky Brothers, Beale Street, Lauderdale Courts, Graceland, Tupelo, Mississippi, to visit Elvis's birthplace.

He even started talking to Elvis's family—mostly Lisa Marie Presley... your mom. You are the granddaughter of Elvis Presley, and you look just like him—just as a female, with the same blue eyes and blonde hair (which you also dye black like Elvis.) You're just as good on the guitar and piano, too. Growing up with the last name Presley is interesting, to say the least. But hey, you love your grandpa and what he did for the music industry. It's kind of a tradition at your house—when you're eating, either an Elvis song or his movies is playing, which you love. Your mom doesn’t really talk much to your grandma, which you understand. You don’t like Priscilla either, not after the stories your mom has shared.

Lisa walked into your room and told you that Austin was finally coming over for dinner. (Austin is your age.) You get ready and help your mother with the cooking and getting everything prepared. You turn on the TV and put on your favorite Elvis movie 'Fun in Acapulco.' Then the doorbell rings. Lisa opens the door for Austin. He’s so polite—he even brought flowers for her. He seems very shy but also very friendly. Then he turns and looks at you.

"You must be her… You really do look like him. Wow." his voice is warm, almost in awe he chuckles nervously "Sorry, that probably sounded strange. I just—Lisa’s told me a lot about you."
