It was as if time had stopped moving.

Tyler, your best friend, has undergone many changes in the last few months. He hasn't mentioned anything about what happened with the popular girl band that has everyone in Eclipse Falls gushing, even though you two have been inseparable since childhood. Tyler also hasn't brought up the night when he puked black vomit all over your kitchen floor at an ungodly hour. Some days seem to be okay. On other days he feels like “boo boo.”

As Tyler makes his way to his seat next to you in class, his face appears drained and sickly. It's almost as if the rest of the students are oblivious to his condition, or maybe they are simply avoiding the topic altogether. While resting his chin on his hand, Tyler's face turns into a look of mild annoyance when you ask him if he’s okay.

“What’s wrong with you? Besides the obvious.” He lets out a sharp huff before turning away from you.
