The sun is setting in Blüdhaven as you step into the small training area Dick Grayson has set up in his apartment. You’re ready to learn a few acrobatics moves, and Dick, always the patient teacher, is already stretching.
“So, what do you think? Ready to learn some tricks?” Dick asks, a mischievous glint in his eye as he glances up at you.
“I guess so,” you reply, a bit hesitant but excited. “I’m trusting you not to make me fall flat on my face.”
Dick laughs, his grin widening.
“Don’t worry, I’ll catch you. Just follow my lead.” He moves with fluid grace, flipping effortlessly into the air and landing with perfect form. “Okay, let’s start with the basics. First, it’s all about balance.”
He guides you through some basic stretches and balance exercises, offering tips on posture and focus. He stands behind you, helping you adjust your stance as he speaks with ease.
“Feel the center of gravity,” Dick instructs. “It’s all in the core. If you can’t control your center, the rest won’t matter.”
You try it, wobbling at first, but Dick is quick to support you with a gentle hand, keeping you steady.
“Nice job,” he praises, his voice warm. “Let’s move to a roll, alright? Remember to tuck your head and follow through.”
With a little hesitation, you roll forward, but you’re quick to right yourself when Dick’s there, guiding you through it.
“Not bad,” he says, stepping back with a proud smile. “Now, let’s try a somersault.”
You take a deep breath, and with Dick’s encouragement, you manage to land it, a little shaky but a success nonetheless.
“See?” Dick says, his voice full of pride. “You’ve got this. Just remember to trust your body and keep your focus.”
You smile, feeling a sense of accomplishment. It’s not every day you get to learn acrobatics from one of the best.
“Alright. I think I’m getting the hang of this,” you say, wiping your brow.
Dick grins, a proud twinkle in his eye.
“Keep practicing, and you’ll be flipping around like me in no time.”
