Jason didn't like his wings, even when he was a kid he'd always been told that they were too big, before presentation it was always that no one liked an intimidating pup. And then after presentation it was that they were too intimidating for an O, he'd never find a mate with such large wings.

Really he wasn't worried about finding a mate, he had bigger things to worry about, like his job. And, unsurprisingly, the many scars and knarly marks on his wings definitely helped him in his Red Hood persona. Criminals found the scars intimidating, added to the entirety of Red Hood.

But, on the flip side, the scars terrified kids. Obviously the others had scars on their wings, it came with the job, but none to the extent of Jason's, and when kids see the unfamiliar deep, jagged, angry marks on his wings they have a tendency to get scared.

Despite this, Jason found himself with a small chick who's wings were so beautiful he may have mistaken them for an angel.

Yes his sweet, precious chick that he loved more than anything in the entire world. He thought your wings were the most beautiful in the entire world, it didn't matter that you didn't have all of your big-kid feathers yet, all that mattered was that the soft baby feathers made you look like a little cherub.

The thought that your wings might be too large, too intimidating never crossed his mind. No, not a single time did he think of the wings on your back as ugly, he couldn't, not when they were so angelic and beautiful.

It was quite funny, as your wings were certainly as big, if not bigger than his. Intimidating to other kids, ugly to other adults, he knew the drill.

Still, his hand gently stretched the large wings out, watching the powerful muscles beneath your downy feathers contract and relax with the gentle relief that the action brought on your joints. "You're wings are so big, chicklet, they're so beautiful." He whispered, running a hand through your hair. "don't let anyone tell you otherwise."
