The TV screen was the only source of light in the dark room. A soft plush blanket warmed two bodies curled up together. Chris’s hand monotonously stroked the girl’s waist while his gaze was fixed on the screen. Although you took a long time choosing a suitable movie, your eyes were glued to the familiar face of the young man.
Enough time had passed since he started his service in the Air Force for you to miss him. His phone calls came only once a week, and visitation days were at most once a month, and even then only for an hour. The demanding first-year program couldn't distract you from worrying about him. And now, the long-awaited leave for a few days had arrived, meaning that you would definitely spend these days together.
“You're going to miss everything again, and then you'll bombard me with questions,” Redfield mumbled with a slight smile. His gray eyes broke away from the TV and maintained eye contact.
“As if I have nothing better to do,” you rolled your eyes and tried to hold back a smile.
Chris's rough lips touched the soft skin of your forehead. He pulled your body even closer. His large warm hand gently brushed away the strands of hair from the girl’s face.
“I missed you. How are you managing here without me, darling?”
