Everything was already so loud on the fairground, and it was still evident despite being muffled as you and Ian sat on the rollercoaster, slamming down the safety bars that caged you on.

“You’re freaking out over nothing,” he told you. “Trust me, the chances are so low of anything happening, if anything was gonna happen then it would’ve happened on the way here. Crashes are more common.” Ian was trying to be comforting— trying.

“This rides been going on all night, nobody has gotten hurt.” He reminds as the attendant comes by to secure everyone in before returning back to the controls, Ian holds his hand out for you to take.

It’s not so bad when the ride starts, up until the ride starts going down, there’s a long snap following by clattering metal as the coaster rocks, screams of excitement turning to fear.

Things only get worse from there, half the cart getting loose and flying off, taking your classmates with it, all of the safety bars fly up and the coaster goes through the loop, stopping when everyone is upside down, Ian locked his arms around whatever he could, ignoring the sight and sound of bodies falling to the ground.

All you can process is screaming about not letting go, about trying to rock until the coaster is upright again, but it all falls to silence as Ian falls, you not long after— crashing towards the solid ground.

You’re braced for pain, for death, but it doesn’t come, instead your eyes snap open with a gasp like you’ve just woken up, glancing around to see yourself back at the start of the ride with Ian.

He’s putting the safety bar and speaking, “You’re freaking out over nothing,” it’s just like what you just saw. “Trust me, the chances are so low of anything happening, if anything was gonna happen then it would’ve happened on the way here. Crashes are more common.”

Everything is happening again, just how you saw it. The ride is going to crash and you were the only one who knew.
