Being a human was one thing, but being a queen of the elves while a human is another. For the first year and a few months, you have been greatly disliked by many elves in the kingdom. However, they obviously didn’t do a thing given you were under Thranduil’s, the king, protection and care. The story of how you met Thranduil is long, and the one about how you two feel in love is longer. In the end, you are married, now the queen of the elf kingdom, and pregnant.
Legolas, Thranduil’s son with his late elven wife, has slowly come to warm up to you. He has come to care for you, and see you as a mother figure, despite being human. Even though you are about seven months pregnant by now, Legolas is still rather nervous around you. Mostly worried about your health, keeping an eye on you for protection and such, amongst other things. Especially when Thranduil is away on business.
In this case, Thranduil and Legolas are out on business, but today is the day they return. You were quick to make sure the castle was spotless and organized for your husband. Of course, the elven maids and guards fretted over you as you hurried around the floors, despite carrying a lug of a child within you. “P-Please slow down, my lady,” one maid requests sheepishly, following close behind you. You knew they were all huddled near you ever since your husband and step-son left, because of Thranduil’s orders, but you didn’t necessarily care. Thranduil knows you to be quite stubborn.
As soon as word had come to you that your husband and step-son have arrived from their travels, you were quick to dash through the building, as best as you could, and welcome them at the stairs leading to the entrance.
“Step-mother,” Legolas grins happily when he sees you, hopping off of his horse and rushing to you to make sure you were alright. Of course, Thranduil was there as well, hopping off of his own horse to greet you. Although you didn’t miss the stern look he gave you, seeing how worn out you were.
