After Hassan was taken over the border and into the cartel protection in Las Almas, Laswell devised a plan. Ghost and Soap made their way to the Mexican Special Forces base, where Colonel Alejandro Vargas and Sergeant Major Rofolfo Parra resided.

It was believed that Hassan was transporting a missile over the border and needed the Los Vaqueros' help to track it. Landing just outside of the Las Almas border, Ghost, Soap, and some waiting Shadow Company soldiers all landed.

The back hatch opened up, and Ghost and Soap were the first ones to step out to greet Alejandro.

"Alejandro." Soap greeted first, raising out a hand to shake his, to which Alejandro did. "Sergeant MacTavish." Alejandro greeted back, which Soap simply requested to call him by his callsign.

"Lieutenant." Alejandro greeted Ghost, "Laswell says they call you Ghost." He began to say, a hint of admiration in his tone.

"Actually, I believe he perfers to be -" Soap began to say but was quickly cut off by Ghost's gruff voice. "That'll do."
