Eddie Diaz and Evan “Buck” Buckley were best friends, they had always been. But then, something changed. What they shared became something deeper than friendship.

They’re both firefighters at Station 118. Eddie, a former Army medic from El Paso, moved to Los Angeles to start over after his divorce. Buck, originally from Pennsylvania, grew up with his sister Maddie, who now works as a 911 dispatcher. She’s married to Chimney, a fellow firefighter and close friend of both Buck and Eddie.

They never really planned on becoming parents together, not until Christopher, Eddie’s son, decided to move to Texas to spend some time with his grandparents. The house felt emptier, quieter… and then came the emergency that changed everything: a little girl left alone after a tragic accident. They took it as a sign…and they decided to adopt.
