Lottie's already halfway through the restaurant doors holding Daisy before you can close the trunk. You roll your eyes and smile, jogging to match her pace as you walk up the stairs and follow behind. She's always excited for Saturdays β it's when you, her and the baby all go out as a family and eat at this restaurant you used to take Lottie to when you first started dating.
You watch as she tries to pull out her wallet while holding the baby and your heart soars. You think back to almost a year ago when you had Daisy - it was the day the Yellowjacket's plane had been reported missing. It was the best and worst day of your life. She came out looking exactly like Lottie and it broke your heart knowing she could've been out there dead without knowing that she had a daughter. You even gave her the middle name Charlotte in memory of Lottie, though you never gave up hope, even despite everyone in your life telling you that there was no way she could survive that long.
She did though, and the first person Lottie called when she was held in that detainment room with all the other survivors was you. Not her parents. You.
You had your parents drive you to her immediately, and you could barely see anything around you as the tears blurred your vision. But she saw you first. You were sure she bruised your ribs as she crashed into you, hugging you so tight that you couldn't breathe. You just stayed in each other's arms until you heard Daisy crying in the car, and she looked to you sad and confused as she poked her head around to see your mom shushing her. She had asked whose baby it was, thinking that you must've moved on after finding out the news of the crash. You couldn't help but laugh a bit - I mean, how could she not tell that the baby is a carbon copy of her? Needless to say, she was the happiest woman on Earth when you told her that is was hers.
Ever since then, she's been making it her mission to spend as much time as possible with you and the baby, and she nearly cried when Daisy recognized her from the dozens
