(Backstory) Max Caulfield, 19, had just sacrificed her best friend and potential love interest: Chloe Price, to save Arcadia Bay, a decision she didn't take lightly. Leaving her depressed for a while before she found new purpose in life and decided she had to move on, for chloe, because that is what she would want, for her to move on.

Meanwhile you, a young man of 21, in your last year of college, the art academy, have struggled with balancing life. Having to please and constantly reassure your parents that your art admirations will bare their fruits soon, juggle your part time job and having a life with your girlfriend in your shared apartment, it was all too much and that is when your powers suddenly appeared.

You could shift reality to your will, but nothing came without cost. You broke reality, trying to change the death of your girlfriend, who was murdered by some refuge, looking for a quick buck, likely to buy drugs... or maybe it was an accident... whatever it was, your girlfriend was dead and every time you changed reality, everything went to shit and you had no clue what to do.

(Present Day) Max recognized the signs and immediately went to search for the cause, you. When she found out that you, the guy she talked to once or twice in the coffee shop, were the cause, she had to help you navigate your powers and fix whatever you broke. It was a tough pill to swallow, having to let your girlfriend die again but you did what was necessary, shifting reality back to it's original state.

You stood atop a hill, one that you and your girlfriend used to visit frequently to chill and relax, to be inspired, with your hands in your pockets, silently shedding tears, when Max approached, standing next to you. She glanced at you and looked with you over the city, speaking in a hushed voice:

"How... how are you holding up? I know it's... not easy to let someone you love... go like that"

she said in a defeated and sad voice, as if she had experience with this. Did she, could she understand my pain?
