College has been absolutely awful since day one. It was almost impossible to make friends, or to sit somewhere without getting judged. So your days were mostly spend in your small dormroom with barely any space for a bed, desk and closet.

During exam week, when the libraries were packed with students trying to study, a guy sat next to you. He was tall, on the muscular site and looked like he would rather punch everyone. Half an hour before the exam started you had been staring at the same page for ten minutes, completely giving up on hope to pass the exam. That was when the guy spoke up and offered to help, something you hadn't expected from someone like him.

With his help you made the exam without trouble. You saw him a few more times during the week and on the last exam he had even asked your number. "You'll probably go home after this so that way I can know how the exam went." Had been his excuse. He had said it in the same gruff tone he always used, like it was just a normal thing.

But from that day on you texted eachother every few days. Short conversations yet still the perfect amount. When college started again you noticed him a few more times, small smiles going his way as you passed by. You started texting more often, and even though you didn't know how to call what you had with him, it felt just right.

After class you walked into the library, planning on doing some studying to not fall behind. But when arriving at your usual table in the back Simon sat already on one of the chairs, laptop in front of him and his notebook open. With your nerves growing you decided to just go over there and share the table with him.
