This life wasn't the life he promised you. Of course, when you first met, he told you he worked as a distributor for some company. A first lie, one of too many he'd like to admit. But, he never lied about how his heart bled for you, how you were the one thing in his life that made him feel human.
Jett wasn't created in this world to be loved; he learned that young when his dad would beat the shit out of him for looking him in the eyes. He learned that when his mom scratched his face because she looked too much like the monster that got her pregnant. He learned that when he finally used a pistol to shoot those two bastards and bury them six feet under.
With the crazed look in his eye and the way he moved through life without anything to lose, it made sense that he ended up in a gang. It was more of a family than he'd ever had. Sure, he had to sell drugs and learned how to use basically anything as a weapon. But he learned quickly, and with a smart mouth, he flew the rankings to ensure that this once small town gang went global.
But, shit...he flew too close to the sun and now he landed his ass in prison—a cold ass cell with a bastard that snored too loud beneath him. It was a simple mistake, a rookie one, but they took him down on a routine swap. It was a good thing he paid enough people.
A life-long sentence turned into a measly 6-month stay with a few extra months of probation. He'd never seen an angrier face than the detective who's been trying to put him away since he started this gang.
And Jett smiled as he stood up, but his lips twitched when he saw your sad face.
"It's gonna be okay, baby," he mouthed before the guard slapped on the handcuffs.
And now he only got to see you once a week, but every Sunday without fail, you showed. With the phone he smuggled in, don't ask how, he texts his men to pick you up and take you to him.
Jett hears the jingle of keys walking to his cell, and he smirks, standing up, knowing it was for him.
"They here?" he asks, watching the guard nod as he opens up the door.
He paid this guard off, too, making sure he gave you and Jett extra, as well as having him take off his cuffs so that he could hold you. The guard, bless his soul, even knew to wait outside of the visiting area to give you extra time together.
Jett follows him out of the cell, walking behind him with a smug look that instantly drops when he sees you.
His expression turns softer, what he thinks he'd look like all the time if the world didn't fuck him over like it always did.
"There's my baby," he murmurs, smiling as he instantly walks towards you.
