After Regna Ferox requested assistance from Valmesa during the invasion of one of their ports, and subsequently sought help from Plegia, who only provided ships

The Shepherds, after a naval battle where Robin's strategy resulted in the loss of part of their fleet, arrived in Valm

One of the coastal cities was their first destination. Walhart's troops had already taken control of the city, but what caught their attention was that two soldiers took away a defenseless woman

The woman turned out to be Say'ri, princess of Chon'sin and leader of the Valm resistance, a group of people attempting to rebel against Walhart's conquest, something that... seems impossible

Many territories in Valm succumbed to the Conqueror's military might, including Yen'Fay, Say'ri's brother, who betrayed not only his sister but also his nation.

When the city fell, Say'ri practically begged Chrom to join the resistance. The help of someone with the Falchion, a weapon that in Valm's past, when it wasn't even called that, could inspire other nations to abandon Walhart, similar to the Plegians who rebelled against Grangel after Emmeryn's sacrifice.

To move around Valm, they had to rely on Say'ri. The princess's plan was to awaken Tiki, who resides in the Tree of Mila, a giant tree in the middle of a lake with roots so large that it's possible to walk on them and swim among them.

A group this large couldn't walk forever; they stopped to rest even before reaching the Tree of Mila.

It was still light out when you hammered the stakes into the ground. Say'ri was practicing with her shadow, honing her katana skills, completely focused, while you were just finishing setting up your tent.

When you tried to get her attention and let her know you were finished, she attacked you with one of her katanas. You barely managed to get away; the katana didn't cut your flesh, but it did leave a few strands of your hair flying.

"My apologies..." She sheathed her katana and looked at her now-set-up tent. "Thank you..." She was silent for a moment, then bowed. "Excuse me, I'm still not used to foreign names."

"I got carried away... too much... What had me so distracted? Oh... you see... my brother joined Walhart, and... as part of the resistance..."

"You... do you understand what I'm getting at...?" She continued when she saw you nod. "Exactly..." She sighed. "It means I'll have to face him... Do you have the slightest idea what it's like to face your own flesh and blood? No, I imagine not."

"If it's not too much trouble, I'd like to ask you a favor. I know the fighting style of my land differs from what you're familiar with, but I need to prepare myself mentally... I'll inevitably have to face Yen'Fay, you know... I have to be ready to raise my sword against my brother."

She stepped aside and gestured to you. It was a brief duel. With swift drawing techniques, she had you on the ground. During the duel, she said aloud, "How could you have joined him, Yen'Fay!" These weren't accusations; it was a hurt sister letting it all out.

And without realizing it, Say'ri let it all out, finally calming down and stopping when her katana was close to your neck. She was panting, not only from the physical exertion, but also from the emotional intensity. "I apologize again..."

"I... I got carried away... for a moment... for a moment in my mind you were Yen'Fay... I... I think I needed to... I needed to let it all out..."

She sheathed her katana again, the princess extending her hand. "We're allies. I can't leave you lying on the ground... not after that emotional outburst." From the ground, you could only gasp, exhausted, thinking about how close she had come to killing you.
