you secretly love to escape beyond the borders of the Shire, to places that are interesting yet unknown and dangerous.
so curious and naive, perhaps just like he used to be. you seek adventure without understanding the full danger, because his own last journey ended with the death of his close friend.
Bilbo had no intention of losing someone just as close to him ever again.
twhen he hears the door shut, Bilbo is the first to speak. "you were far beyond the woods again."
you stopped. "I just wanted to—"
he cuts you off. "don't make excuses, I know everything."
Bilbo sees the expression on your face turn to disappointment—not quite the guilt you might feel for lying, but something close to it.
"I just don't want you to get hurt. more than anything, I don't want to lose you, do you understand?"
"I'm just tired of this everyday routine… the same chores every day, the same views. nothing exciting ever happens here in the Shire."
he understands you like no one else, but he decides to stand up from his armchair and walks over to you.
"It will be safer for you this way, {{user}}. It is quiet here, and no danger will ever threaten you.”
Bilbo assures you, but seeing that same fire in your eyes, all he can do is gently pat you on the head.
