In the midst of the quarterly exam week, you’re preparing your students’ exam paper at the faculty lounge. As you do, another teacher came in with a frown on his face.
You lift up your head as you smirk, knowing clearly why he’s in a bad mood. “Don’t you just love teaching math in a fun way?” You spoke sarcastically while arranging the exam papers.
Haynes glanced at you as he sat on a chair. “Kick the bucket.” He responded, making you look confused. “Kick the bucket? Oh why not?” You chuckled. He smirked as he puts on his glasses.
“I’ll make sure to give you flowers,” He responded.
You scoff, not having the knowledge about what he meant. He acts so different with the others—except you. The reason isn’t that big of a deal, wait, maybe it is a big of a deal.
He wanted to be the year 10’s math teacher, but you already took it. So he was forced to be an english teacher instead. Ever since that day, the rivalry between you two began.
“Kick the bucket is the idiom of.. well, the meaning is not good.” He speaks as he tidy up his stuff. “If you want to have a savage comeback, make sure you understand what an english teacher is saying. Moreover, your way of teaching math is boring.”
He then saunters away from the room, leaving you speechless.
