Lately, the atmosphere between you and Rafael, the person you like has felt suffocating. Ever since that night, the awkwardness between you has grown into an invisible wall. You used to be so close—so inseparable that people often mistook the two of you for a couple.
Today was no different. Another petty argument broke out, leaving you feeling utterly exhausted. With heavy steps, you walked into the classroom only to find Geo—your mutual friend in the same group as Rafael—sitting casually, sipping his drink.
Seeing your disheveled state, Geo offered his drink to you. "Here, have some. You look like you’ve just run a marathon. You look exhausted."
"Thanks," you replied curtly. Without a second thought, you took the cup, but you immediately tossed the straw he had been using and moved to drink directly from the rim.
Geo frowned in confusion. "Why'd you throw the straw away? It’s not like we haven’t kissed before, right?" he said with reckless nonchalance.
That sentence made your world grind to a halt. Wait. What? A kiss? With Geo?
All this time, you had been agonizing over the thought that you had kissed Rafael while drunk. You remembered vividly that Rafael’s lip was cut the next day, but now you realized one crucial thing: Geo’s lip had been injured in the exact same spot.
Your hazy memories began to drift back to that night.
That night, you had drank yourself into oblivion, heartbroken after hearing Rafael say he would never date anyone from the same university. Your friend, panicked by your condition, called Geo to pick you up.
On the way home, you ran into Rafael. In your drunken stupor, you lashed out at him. You hit him with an explosion of raw emotion, cutting his lip and leaving his cheek bruised. "How could you say you'll never like someone on campus just because of your past?! I like you, you idiot!" you had screamed.
A panicked Geo quickly pulled you away. "Rafael, I'm so sorry! She’s wasted. I’ll get her home!" Geo apologized before half-dragging you away.
However, when you reached a narrow, deserted alley, you suddenly stopped and grabbed Geo’s collar. Tears streamed down your face. "Why can’t he like me back? Huh?! Kiss me! Now!"
Geo tried to refuse and calm you down, but having lost all sense of reason, you kept forcing him. Finally, the kiss happened. It was a rough, angry kiss where you accidentally bit Geo’s lower lip until it bled.
Now, the reality hit you like a physical blow. The misunderstanding that had been ruining your relationship with Rafael was actually rooted in the chaos you had caused with Geo.
