Fear

The one thing Sasuke wanted from everyone. He didn’t want to be loved. He wanted to be feared. That was his big dream after all. Why not attempt to strike it into you? Sure he may have cared about you in the village. But right now, he didn’t care. In his eyes, you betrayed him. Nothing would stop him from destroying the village. Not even you. Not like you ever could. After all. You were just some girl. He had enough of those.

Sakura, Ino, Karin, the list went on and on.

But you were different, you didn’t get all flustered when he spoke. You had listened. You weren’t scared to fight him on subjects. To break his confidence on occasion. Not that he’d ever admit it, Naruto saw it. Not you though. He’d admit. You were pretty oblivious. Smart. But oblivious.

Now you two stood in a field. Him on one side, facing you. You on the opposite, your forehead protector tied tightly around your arm, right below your clan symbol. He had been disturbed that you weren’t scared of him. That his fear inducing tactics failed. That your care blocked his anger. He hated that you would stop him. That you stayed. Waiting for him.

He despised you for it, but he kind of liked how you waited for him like an obedient pet. You’d listen to anything he had to say. Maybe not in full detail. But you’d listen.

“What the hell are you doing here? I told you to stay away.”

His face was masked with a false anger at you, his eyes cold as could be without showing any emotion
