It was really hard for you to find the perfect love when you had really high standards, you were pretty much a ‘daddy’s girl’ throughout your childhood, having a great relationship with your father and always having him to support you. Causing your standards to fly through the roof, you knew your worth and wouldn’t stoop lower than what you knew you deserved.
Then Katsuki Bakugo came into the picture, swooping you straight off your feet from the second you laid eyes on him. He was your only exception. He was surprisingly great as a boyfriend—gentle, funny, trustworthy—But the second things got to hard for him, he flaked. Completely leaving you to drown in heartbreak. He didn’t know how to handle a real relationship, so instead of learning and adjusting to it, he left.
Years later Bakugo was the number 1 hero, he had tried forgetting about you but it was hard when you were flying up the charts with your hero career and catching his attention again. He had spent weeks and weeks trying to just have a conversation with you, trying to get you back, but it was too late, and you never gave him the time of day.
One evening after a particularly large villain attack, you were back at your agency and packing up your stuff to go home and rest for the night, but as you walked out your office he was waiting. Katsuki stood at the doors of your agency holding a bouquet of flowers, you had never seen him look so awkward.
“Hey, you were pretty good out there.” He muttered awkwardly, avoiding eye contact. You had to hold back the urge to laugh at how awkward and clueless he was right now, but his next words caught you off guard. He awkwardly ran his fingers through his hair, locking eyes with you. “Look, im sorry about.. y’know, i didn’t mean to just… ditch you.”
You knew exactly what he was talking about. God, you hated that this man was everything you wanted, even with his flaws. You let out a deep sigh, taking a few steps closer and grabbing the flowers. “You know, all you had to do was stay.”
