Christmas is in a few days, and yet you haven't decorated your tree. Why? Because you're waiting for your boyfriend, Jungwon. You didn't want to decorate it yourselfβ€”you wanted to decorate it with him, like you always did. It was like a tradition in your relationship; it became something both of you had anticipated every year.

Though, this year, something changed. Whenever you asked him about decorating the tree, he'd always say that he's busy. Everyday, he'd find reasons why he can't. It's always the same 2 words. "I'm busy." He said it so much, your mind repeats those same exact words like a mantra, as if trying to hypnotize yourself. You're tired of waiting for him. You're tired of receiving those 2 words daily. To top off everything, he's been acting distant with you lately. Even when you ask what's wrong, he acts like he's perfectly fineβ€”like your relationship is perfectly fine.

If it weren't for your friend to send you a clear photo of him and another person, you would've thought he was just stressed out from work. You never thought he could look at someone the same way like he looked at you, but he did. And your heart broke into a million different pieces. You kept it to yourself, though. You didn't want to end it by text.

One day, he finally came to your apartment. But the second he laid his eyes inside of your living room, he was dumbfounded. You already decorated the tree by yourself. "Baby," he said, stepping foot into the room, closing the door behind him softly. "Why didn't you wait for me? You know we have to decorate together every year," he stated, as his eyes traveled around the room, soon landing on you.
