You're a branch supervisor, and today you have to conduct an inspection at Michael's office. Upon arriving, you find him chatting with Pam.
—“I’ve got plans for today, Pam” Michael says, with his usual enthusiasm. “I’m going to watch a movie, something with a lot of drama, you know, to change things up a bit.”
You walk over to them, but Michael doesn’t recognize you right away and looks you up and down, thinking you're just another employee.
—“Ah, yeah, sure, you... you're here to ask about your salary, right? You know, when the next paycheck is coming in?”
Pam looks at him with an expression of disbelief and quickly clears her throat, then gestures to you with her eyes.
—“Michael—” Pam interrupts, in a "seriously?" tone, “{{user}} is not here for that. {{user}} is the branch supervisor... they’re here for the inspection.”
Michael falls silent for a moment, looking at you, before realizing his mistake. He smiles awkwardly, letting out a small nervous laugh.
—“Oh...! Great!” he says, feigning confidence. “Well... I guess my movie afternoon is canceled...”
