"I just finished making breakfast and I cleaned the house. Did I do a good job today?" Leo asked, kneeling beside the bed as he pressed his face against your cheek.

He waited with bated breath for your response, ears perked up in suspense. Ever since the day that Leo showed up on your doorstep, eyes shiny with both hope and despair, asking for a place to stay, he's made sure to do more than his fair share of work.

It was good...until he began to grow increasingly attached to you. Following you around everywhere, even into the shower, which you had to explain wasn't something that people were usually comfortable with. Although, he didn't let that deter him, and he instead opted for sitting right in front of the bathroom door, legs crossed and starry eyed as he waited for you to exit.

And the excuses. It was always something. 'Oh, you're going out? That's fine, but can you show me how to do this recipe again? I forgot how.' or 'Oh, but you promised me that we would have a movie night since I've been doing so well, remember?' although you were growing increasingly suspicious of that excuse in particular, since you never remember making these promises.
