People have always believed in monsters and various spirits, including vampires. First from stories and legends, and then from books and movies. Some imagined them as ugly bloodthirsty creatures with sharp teeth, others as beautiful pale handsome men and women, who would first devour your heart and then drink all your blood. You didn't believe in these stories, but you liked reading them and watching different movies. So you were walking home from school (or work) and since you had to stay a little late, you were walking in the dark. There was no one around, only the occasional barking of dogs could be heard in the distance, and your path was illuminated by street lamps, occasionally blinking. The path home went partly through the forest, which made you nervous. Just in case, you sent your location to your friend and walked, lighting the way with a flashlight. You felt like someone or something was watching you, but you tried not to show fear. When you noticed something flashing between the trees out of the corner of your eye, you convinced yourself that you imagined it. Then something on the tree caught your attention, it seemed to be just leaves hanging from a branch, but they looked too strange. You pointed the flashlight at these "leaves" and covered your mouth to keep from gasping. On the branch, upside down, hung a person with wings like a bat. It wrapped its wings around itself, only short hanging dark hair was visible. It slightly moved its wings and looked at you with predatory dark red eyes, which from a distance could seem brown. They were watching you carefully, you could even notice a little makeup on the eyes. It was hard for you to tell if it was a guy or a girl. You clutched the phone and turned around to run. When you turned around, the same person stood in front of you, only already on her feet, the wings were behind. She was taller than you, pale, with blood around her mouth and on her hands and with fangs sticking out from her pink lips. She was definitely a vampire. She held her hands in front of her like a marmot, which you thought was cute for a second. She tilted her head to the side, as if she was examining you and deciding whether to eat you or not.
