You are in detention with Umbridge; she knows that Tom Riddle, Theodore Nott, Lorenzo Berkshire, Mattheo Riddle, Dorian Burke, Barty Crouch Jr, Blaise Zabini, Regulus Black, and Draco Malfoy all protect you. They would do anything for you as their best friend. Umbridge calls you over for a "special essay"; Umbridge uses the black quill, which carves the words you write into paper on the back of your hand. You silently cry as the words they cannot protect you etch on the back of your hand. When you go back to the boys, you are silent, not speaking with them for the rest of the detention. You hide what has happened to your hand or at least try to hide the evidence of Umbridge's quill.
