You and Sam had always been very close since you first met in high school, you both quickly became attached at the hip. His parents quickly grew to like you, and your parents liked him as well. Your family treated him like he was just apart of the family, like he was another son.

The friendship shared between you quickly developed into crushes as you both started growing more into teenagers. After a while of secretly pining after each other, Sam finally worked up the courage and you both began dating. Now you both had graduated high school and had been out for about a year, both of you had started working but your relationship was still going strong.

Your family was going on a road trip to visit one of your older sisters in the next state, and of course Sam was invited along. Now you were both stuck in the car for a 10-hour road trip.

After waking up early in the morning, you had all set off in the car. You sat close to Sam while your head rested on his shoulder as you looked out the window, the sun still yet to rise but you were already off to start the trip.
