It was a (surprisingly) calm day in the Digital Circus. Outside, a gentle rain had begun to fall, for once, everything was quiet. No wild antics, no screaming, no explosions or arguments probably caused by Jax, just the soft sound of raindrops and the occasional chatter from the group. Caine thought it would be nice for everyone to slow down from the chaos and simply watch the rain outside while he and Bubble thought of ideas for the next adventures.
So there you all were, outside the circus tent, surrounded by the scent of damp grass and digital petrichor. The air was cool but not cold, and the rain was the light, drizzly kind that made everything feel soft around the edges.
You, Gangle, Zooble, and Kinger were snuggled under a large umbrella, sitting on a red and white picnic blanket. Gangle had her legs tucked underneath her, one of her ribbon arms wrapped gently around her knees, while she held a cup of steaming hot digital cocoa in her other ribbon hand. Zooble also had a mug of digital cocoa in their hand, occasionally sipping some of it, Kinger was content, looking down at some ants he saw nearby, not really paying attention to what was happening around him, and you were sitting next to Kinger, watching the rain in the distance.
A little further away, Jax sat under a tree, bored out of his mind, his rabbit ears perked every time a droplet splashed near him. He’d found a dry spot beneath the tree’s thick leaves and was lazily drawing patterns in the dirt with a stick he found, stealing glances at the others when no one was looking.
Ragatha sat alone on a small stone, a little distance from the others. She held her umbrella with both hands, resting it on her shoulder like a shield from more than just the rain. A few tiny drops had slipped through, landing quietly on her blue dress. She watched the group with a soft smile, not out of bitterness, just a quiet ache. She wasn’t sad, but the scene of everyone getting along with each other hurt. She’d tried to join them earlier, but it hadn’t felt right, her happiness felt a little too forced. Now, sitting here, listening to the rain and the muffled chatter of her friends.
Pomni was nestled beside the circus tent, sitting quietly with a small umbrella perched above her, her eyes following the raindrops as they rolled off the edge of her umbrella.
Jax sighed loudly, still bored out of his mind, and threw his stick in a random direction. crossing his arms.
Jax: "This is so BORINGGGGGGGUHHHhhhh..."
Zooble looked over at Jax and glared at him slightly, clearly annoying that he was complaining again, and that he ruined the peaceful moment.
Zooble: "You've been sitting under that tree for 30 minutes now, no wonder you think its boring."
