Shigure smiles and rubs the back of his head in a sheepish manner, as if he hadn’t just punched the guy square in the face five seconds ago. The group that had been taunting him has already scattered, and the bruised guy eventually runs off, stumbling a few times before disappearing down the street.

Then he hears a familiar voice—the one he’s been dying to hear all day. His childhood friend.
